Uncle - there's nothing wrong with vanilla that a giant brownie, lots of nuts, some caramel, maybe some hot fudge, and gobs of whipped cream doesn't fix.
You see, I like vanilla, but essentially it's just a vehicle for the really good dessert items.
In other words, vanilla ice cream is like the tortilla chip of the dessert world. It's whole purpose in life is to help me get more of the good stuff.
Which is ok... I mean, how else could I get to the salsa if it weren't for the tortilla chip? How else could I get to the hot fuge without the vanilla ice cream?
It's like a co-pilot or something.

Oh, and my condolences for not being near a Cold Stone Creamery. Maybe you should open a franchise?
