PBS ran a nice one hour special debunking the Da Vinci Code- completely. Of most interest was the supposed secret society with all these famous people as the head- including Da Vinci,-and that the present head of that secret society is a gentleman currently living in France. They interviewed him - and the entire society is a fabrication of his and some buddies - with proof written on the original document - sort of an ultimate college gag- invented by some people bored and out to get a laugh - I originally thought, from reading the book, that the society- on which most of the book is dependent- was real- and so one was required to debunk and expose the heresy it was embracing - variations of long-standing heresies about Jesus. However, since the society itself is non-existent, - well there is no real heresy to defend. EVerything evaporates.
